Frequently Asked Questions
Isn't all window film the same?
Not at all! The film you see at the local do-it-yourself store is a MUCH lower quality film. That purple, bubble-filled tint you see on cars? That's cheap tint.
Can I install this myself?
You COULD, but it's not recommended. Installing film takes a lot of patience and attention to detail. In addition, making sure the windows are properly cleaned and prepped is crutial, because the smallest piece of dirt left on a window will be magified, and stuck there forever.
My windows were just tinted and they now appear hazy or have bubbles!
This is common and expected. After the film has been installed, the drying process may take between a week to a month, depending on how much sunlight that area receives. During that process, you may see small bubbles or the window looking hazy. This is the water evaporating, and should clear up. Please contact us if it remains for over 30 days.
What do I use to clean my windows once they've been tinted?
On the inside of the window where the film is installed, fill an empty spray bottle with water and a few drops of dish soap. DON'T use any products with amonia (Windex, ext), as this may damage the film.
Is there a warranty?
Yes! All SolarGard films come with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacture's defect. Your installer will provide you with all the paperwork when the installation has been completed.
